I know I usually make a big deal about not using identifiable pictures on my blog (though some would say most of my pictures are so bad they automatically make everyone unidentifiable anyway), but did you hear that sound of shattering just then? Yep, it’s a rule being broken. My photo today is for the lovely Tara’s gallery, for the theme Celebration. Obviously, as a biggish blended family, we have a lot of birthdays – some months I seem to do nothing but bake cakes and stick candles in them – but this is a picture I particularly love. The Caravaggio-like extremes of light and shade (well, in my dreams), the look of excitment, the quiet stillness of the photo – or maybe just the fact that it came out reasonably well for a change – make it one of my absolute favourites. Definitely something to celebrate.
A beautiful photo…
Thank you! It’s definitely one of my faves x
I love the soft candley glow on this 🙂 Fab photo!
Isn’t it great? A complete fluke, needless to say!
