I was tootling through Tooting this morning on my way to work, through the dark November drizzle, the nasty big buses and the grumpy commuters, when I came across this lovely sight:
That is surely the only way to travel through Tooting – on a sugar pink bike, wearing sugar pink bike leathers, with a swirly girly pink helmet and, I don’t know if you can see it, but a pink and yellow artificial flower stuck to the handlebar of the bike. And yes, she was wearing little pink boots too.
Wow! What chutzpah! I immediately started to rethink my own drab wardrobe ….though I am not sure Dulwich is ready for me in pink. Still, she really brightened up my day. I don’t know what the ethics are of snatching a picture of someone through the windscreen and just sticking it on a blog (though I should say yes officer, I was stationary at the time, traffic is almost always stationary in Tooting) but she certainly didn’t look like a shrinking violet so I’m sure she wouldn’t mind.
She brightened up my day, hope it works with yours.
That has brought a smile to my face at 6.45 p.m. – it would have really cheered me on a dreary morning.
Sorry, Sue, I would have posted it earlier but it was one of those days …hopefully you’ll remember the pink during any grey bits today!
Woah! How cool is she….and I know exactly what you mean about the traffic. I used to commute through Tooting. I’m just surprised you weren’t stationary long enough to get out of the car and get her to pose.
Ooh, another Tootingite, how you must miss it!! Yes, I could have got out of the car and helped her spray-paint the bike pink in the time it took for the traffic to move ….not that she needed any help!
She certainly has guts!!
Definitely guts – and quite possibly sunglasses, too! I didn’t get a front view but all that pink must be challenging first thing …
Fantastic. That is a commitment, and a great photo too.
Oooh, thanks re the photo. I do love my iPhone, it makes these things so easy, though I’d kill for some sort of zoom. There was an app I downloaded but I can’t seem to get it to work ….
